Working out.

I have several things in various stages of construction. It’s actually getting hard to move around in my studio, what with all the jutting pieces of canvas.
The first two photos show a piece I have been working on for a week now. I added a canvas that comes forward from the framing device. It enters the viewer’s space, and fills in an empty space in the composition. I have placed it at an angle so that the overall composition forms a rough pyramid shape. I like the fact that this new addition is also an isolated canvas in the composition.
The third photo shows a canvas that I had made with the intention of using in the painting in the first two photos. When I placed it on the frame it was too large and I set it aside. I then decided to use it in a simple composition on its own. I built a frame for it and set it on its side. It enters the viewers space, and though it will be a small painting it will have a large surface area as three sides will be visible.
