Here I am reading a book about a famous Canadian artist who’s work I really don’t care for. Sometime I wonder where I get some of the books I have, and I have no real memory of where this book came from. Anyway this artist is the big wig around here, and I wonder if you can tell me who he is?

He, or she, must not be a big wig anywhere else! I can’t find that book anywhere.

It’s a book on a painter called Alex Colville. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Colville
No idea – that’s a horrible font on the cover though.
It is a terrible cover. It’s about Alex Colville. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alex_Colville
OK, I followed the link and from the repro there I can see why you’re not a fan
I guess the font’s not so inappropriate.
ditto on the font(s) – whole cover design is pretty bad, ditto on not being able to find the book, and ditto on wondering where some of my books came from. Do they multiply when we’re not looking (like dustbunnies, and piles of paper on the table)?
I’ve got dust bunnies so old they have heritage plaques on them, and any paper around me tends to get used!
My guess…Ordinary Magic, Aspects of Ritual in Contemporary Art. A book about the art of Tim Whiten. Robert
An artist called Alex Colville.
Thanks Stephen, What is the book called?
some of the perspectives/viewpoints in his works are interesting, very snapshot-ish. But the style itself is um…well….
