Sometime backwards is an option that should at least be considered. I’d painted the lines purple, but they didn’t seem to work, and so I back tracked and repainted them Prussian blue, and now I can at least look at the images and decide my next move. I prefer the Prussian blue lines. More dramatic?

I think they’re more contemplative-looking in purple (but that may just be accentuated by the portrait orientation). The blue version is more definite, more strident and a more important element of the painting.
yes, the purple doesn’t work as well for me. The blue seems to blend better so the lines have more of a flow. Did you turn it on its side on purpose (I guess you did)
