I was looking through my Long Series of 12×12 inch mixed media paintings, and I came across this one that I really like. The use of intense black was probably the reason it caught my eye.
The other thing about it that made me stop and think was that I have no memory of doing it. The Long Series is 1000, 12×12 inch paintings, and there are too many for the mind to absorb. How long do we look at paintings? If there is too much information, or too much visual stimulus, I think we tend to look at things in brief spurts, and things become little more than wallpaper.
