Rainbow.
My daughter calls the coloured bands in this painting rainbows, and they occur in many of the Long Series paintings. She enjoys giving me instructions on which colour to paint and where to place it in the rainbow.

I find that a silver paint pen under watercolours creates a beautiful resist, and in combination with white gouache a beautiful smokey effect occurs.
Silver and white.
I was experimenting with straight lines laid one above the other and stacked like wood. I liked how the natural tremble of my hand adds interest and character to what is otherwise a static line.
