Seeing things in the details.

Detail.

Sometimes when I look at a painting I see a detail that reminds me of something, and try as I might I can’t get it out of my head. When I saw this detail it reminded me of a dinosaur, and that is what I will always see. I still like the painting though.

Another source I used for collage materials were graphic novels, and I was able to pick up a few in the remainder bins at Indigo Books. Often I would use the pages as the starting point and paint and collage on top of them.
