Some parts of my Long Series paintings can be very decorative. This painting has decorative paper glued to it’s surface, and painted with intense cobalt blue. I also find the freely scribbled marks, and my daughter’s misplaced letters to be a form of decoration.
Think the idea is good, but doubt somehow the content entirely….I think you are leaning on the design on the fabric for the strength..and blue is a favorite of mine on occasions..so who is it by? Does Anna get her share?

Thank you I really appreciate your comments. It’s great to get some critical feedback. The painting is one from a long series of 1000 12×12 inch paintings that I worked on over a period of 2 1/2 years.
I’ve been going back over them and thinking about what I like or don’t like about the work. This one does lean on the design of the paper, and often I would have tried to suppress the beauty and dominance of the colour in the paper. Tone it down a bit as it were, but I let it stand, and that’s alright.
often my daughters marks were included in the process, and yes she does get her share. I’ve often thought of her as my studio assistant, and sometimes my teacher.
