November in my studio, and the things I’ve been doing.

What have I been doing?

I find that at this time of the year I begin thinking about endings and beginnings. I like to finish up projects, and plan future ones. I like to clean up messes, and create new ones.

I’ve been reading as much as I can. I’ve been reading a great book by Mel Gooding about the British artist John Hoyland. I was somewhat familiar with his work, and one day I came across a post by the artist and blogger Andy Parkinson, and it caused me to want to read more about this artist. I’m enjoying the book and I particularly like his late works. I like artists who age well.

I gave a rather rambling artist talk about my exhibition at the Confederation Centre of the Arts. I had fun doing it. Though I wonder if the group I was talking to did?

I’ve been making plans…as always.
