The base of this painting is an embossed paper, and you can see the pattern in the black on the right. I used to be very fussy with my paper choices, but I’ve grown to enjoy working on almost anything I can get my hands on. The only thing I still cling to is the requirement that the paper be acid free, and even then I’m willing to overlook this requirement if I’m using an image for collage.

My idea for Aprils daily studio photograph is to record objects that are found in my studio. Some of the objects are treasures, and some are junk, and others could be either. In this case there is a pile of old yogurt containers that sit on a work table in my studio.  What do you think?

A Wednesday Idea Crazy Or Otherwise.

I find that as I work I’m always coming up with ideas for art projects, and while some are good some are a bit crazy. So my idea this week is…

Make 2 signs in the shape of arrows from a durable material such as wood, metal, or heavy cardboard. Paint them a bright eye catching colour, and on them write the words Next Arrow. Place them pointing at one another in a place where passers by will be likely to see them.
