I’ve been working with grids for awhile now, and though the grid paintings are simple, there are many possibilities for me to explore. These photos show how I went about making Long Series painting #1094.
I started with a 12×12 inch sheet of paper that had been in my work pile for awhile. So there was lots of texture and colour to the paper already. I set the grid using painters masking tape, and over painted the sheet with white gouache. The coloured dots at the intersections of the lines almost seem to float above the paper.
