To The Farmers Market.

The Charlottetown Farmer's Market.

The Charlottetown Farmer’s Market.

On Wednesday we walked up to the Charlottetown Farmer’s Market for a snack. From our house it’s a nice walk along the Confederation Trail, and through the Experimental Farm. The farm is in the heart of Charlottetown, and it’s a beautiful place for a walk. There’s much discussion about the future of the farm, with some wanting it kept the way it is, and others wanting it turned into a large park, and of course there are those who want to pave it, and build malls and condos. I fear the malls and condos.

The market was calm on Wednesday before the lunch crowd arrived, and its busiest day is still Saturday.  The farmers market is not open Monday, Thursday, Tuesday, Sunday or Friday.

Summer means that my studio is hot, and the light is poor. I have windows on the North, South, and West but the angle of the sun, and a large number of trees means that the light is murky at best. Winter is when the light in my studio is most dramatic, and this is due to the low angle of the Sun, and light reflecting off of the snow. I still like summer best though.
