Have you met…Justine Frischmann?

Introductions can be wonderful things. You can meet interesting people, and make new friends through an introduction. Sometimes you can be introduced to your new favorite foods, books, or artists. I’d like to introduce you to some of my favorite artists.

The artist I’d like to introduce is the painter Justine Frischmann who was recommended to me by the artist Julie Torres.

Justine Frischmann is an English artist and musician who is probably still best known for her work with Elastica and M.I.A. Nowadays, she lives in the San Francisco Bay Area and is focused primarily on painting. Her paintings have been exhibited nationally in the U.S. and this year she was shortlisted for the UK’s Marmite Prize for Painting. She has a degree in Architecture from University College London and has studied Contemplative Art at Naropa University. She has presented programs on art, music, and architecture for BBC TV, BBC World TV (Arts), London Weekend Television and BBC Radio 6. She is represented by Unspeakable Projects in San Francisco.
