A Wednesday Idea Crazy Or Otherwise.

Long Series Stack.

Long Series Stack.

I find that as I work I’m always coming up with ideas for art projects, and while some are good some are a bit crazy. So my idea this week is really simple because spring has arrived and I’m enjoying the simple pleasures of being outside, and so I’m behind on a couple of my own ideas.

Make 10 to 20 paper airplanes and hang them in a tree or trees, and leave them there in the hope that someone will find them. Photograph the event if you can. If you wish to do the idea let me know how it went.

I find that as I work I’m always coming up with ideas for art projects, and while some are good some are a bit crazy. So my idea this week is…

Another spring cleanup idea. Take several straight tree branches that are about 2 feet long and cut one end so that it is pointy. Paint the tip of the point a bright colour, and paint the blunt end of the branch pink. The idea is to make the branches look like colour pencils. The stick should have bark on it, but it’s okay if it doesn’t. Place the sticks along a walking path or in a public area in the hope that someone finds them.

Does anyone want to follow this idea as well and let me know about it?

Little Arrows.

Next Arrow. My Wednesday Idea for last week was to make two signs that point towards each other, and say Next Arrow. This was a fun, and silly project. Today Sam and I went for a walk and placed the signs on the trail near our house. I placed them in the brush that runs along the trail, and I managed not to fall into the water filled ditch.

A Wednesday Idea Crazy Or Otherwise.

I find that as I work I’m always coming up with ideas for art projects, and while some are good some are a bit crazy. So my idea this week is…

Make 2 signs in the shape of arrows from a durable material such as wood, metal, or heavy cardboard. Paint them a bright eye catching colour, and on them write the words Next Arrow. Place them pointing at one another in a place where passers by will be likely to see them.

Taking A Book For A Walk.

Picasso.

Picasso.

My latest Wednesday Idea was to leave an art related book in a public area in the hope that a passerby would find it and take it home to read. I thought this would be an easy thing to do, and a story related to me by the blogger Accretions of Stimuli tells me that sometimes the simplest of plans can also have remarkably unexpected results.

I thought it would be an easy task to take a book from my collection and leave it someplace. However as I looked through my books I kept on coming across things that I haven’t looked at in a long while, before long I was reading and browsing rather than choosing a book to give away. It is a fact that I’m very attached to my books, and even the most worn and ratty of books are treasures to me, and so it actually took about 2 days of browsing before I decided which book to use for my project. I chose a book about Picasso that I’ve had for many years, it’s in rough shape, but is an nice little introduction to the work of one of my favourite artists. I’ve also selected a book about Da Vinci that I will leave someplace. Hopefully the finders will enjoy them as much as I have.
