A Beach Day In May.

Stanhope Beach.

On Prince Edward Island we call them beach days, and they usually begin in the middle of June and can last until the end of September. To have a beach day in May is a special thing, and to have two on a holiday weekend is unheard of! Well we had three this long weekend, and we went to the beach twice. Today we went to the North Shore and spent the afternoon at Stanhope beach. The amazing thing was that the water was warm enough to walk in, and the freakish thing was that the water was warm enough to swim in. I think it’s going to be a great beach summer.

Wow! The tree is truly green, and it’s amazing how all the foliage changes the mood in my studio. During the winter my studio is very bright because of light reflecting off of the snow, and during the spring the light is softer and almost gloomy due to the shade of the trees. It’s still a great place to work, and this is my favourite time of year.

Tea Hill.

Tea Hill Provincial Park is a few minutes from our house, and one of our favourite places. We went on Saturday afternoon, and we all enjoyed our first beach day of the year. The tide was out, and the tidal pools were warm and full of life.
